On Wednesday the 4th of August preparations began for the sleeping car train to the annual Dowerin Field Days, which sees HVTR providing a rake of heritage sleeping cars to provide extra accommodation for one of the biggest country agricultural events in WA. Dwellingup yard would be very busy on this day. W903 and a 3 car train worked the regular Forest Ranger service from Pinjarra up the hill to Dwellingup. Prior to W903's arrival in Dwellingup, shunting of the sleeping car fleet from the shed had already begun with V4 & V5 taking charge of duties whilst SEC1 returned with the morning Forest Railway service train from Etmilyn. W903 arrived on the loop at Dwellingup in a somewhat congested yard with the SEC1 and train in the main platform and sleeping cars taking up most other available roads. W903 was then turned on the triangle and V5 commenced to add the sleeping cars to the ranger consist for the journey to Pinjarra where the cars would be cleaned and prepared for the trip to Dowerin After all the activity in Dwellingup yard W903 departed on time for Pinjarra snaking its way down the steep grades and sharp curves through the Darling Range.
